Exclusive to the W.T. Stead Resource Site, this unique Coffee Mug features two key extracts from W.T. Stead’s “The Maiden Tribute of Modern Baylon” (1885). Taken from original copies of the Pall Mall Gazette, this shocking, front page mockup features two key passages from Stead’s infamous newspaper expose of child prostitution in London. The first, “The Ruin of the Very Young” tells of the rescue of  5 year-old Annie, while the second, “A Child of  Thirteen Bought for £5”, begins the story of Lily, who would later be revealed as Eliza Armstrong.
